| Liturgical Ministries are necessary and vital ministries of our parish. Prayerful and serious consideration should be given before a commitment of your time and talent is made. To participate, you must be a practicing Catholic, registered and confirmed (except for Altar Servers). Training sessions are held at various times. | |||||||||

Altar servers |
Assist the Priest at the weekday and weekend
Masses. Boys or girls interested in serving must be in the
fourth grade or older. Baptized adult parishioners are eligible
to serve as well. |

Eucharistic Ministers |
Assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at any of our
liturgical celebrations.

|
Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound |
“Stay with us Lord, it is almost evening.” ~ Luke 24:29 Assist in distributing Communion to Catholics in retirement centers, nursing homes and private homes who are unable to come to Mass. |

Lectors |
“The Lord has given me a well-trained tongue, that I may speak
to a weary world that will rouse them.” Isaiah 50:4 Read the scripture for the Mass and should be willing to be scheduled to read at weekend Masses. |

|
Sacristans |
Sacristans’ assist on Saturdays and Sundays and weekdays in preparing for Masses. | ||||||||

Ushers |
“Whoever welcomes you, welcome me; and whoever welcomes me,
welcomes the one who sent me.” Matthew 10:40 Ushers welcome everyone who attends Mass at St. Paul on a weekend, help in taking up the collection, and perform a variety of other tasks to assist in the celebration of Mass. |

Liturgy Committee |
The Liturgy Committee assists in the enrichment of personal
spirituality and the development of a strong faith community.
The committee plans the special liturgies and events for special
reasons such as Christmas and Easter. They also plan Days of
Recollection, Penance Services, Ecumenical Services and special
Children’s Masses. |

Liturgical Environment |
“To bring beauty to my sanctuary and glory to the place where I
set my feet.” Isaiah 60:13 The Liturgical Environment group assists the pastor in the planning and implementation of the appropriate decorations of the sanctuary and chapel for yearly recurring seasons and feasts. Anyone interested in helping with this should contact the parish office to speak with the pastor or the Liturgical Coordinator. |

Altar Linens |
“Then he will show you a large upstairs room, fixed up and
furnished, where you will get everything ready for us." ~
Mark 14:15 ~ Volunteers wash and iron the altar linens each week. If you would like to help with this, please speak with a sacristan. |

Eucharistic Adoration |

Hospitality |

Luke 19:6 Whenever new members register with our parish, this Committee would arrange to meet with them, provide answers to their questions, and give them a packet containing the Mass Bulletin, and other pre-registration forms for CCD classes and stewardship information. Prayer Group |
“For when two or three come together in my name, I am here with
them.” Matthew 18:20 Our prayer group meets weekly, Wednesday nights in our School Media Center beginning at 7pm. The meeting includes recitation of the rosary, readings and reflection, hymns, and prayer. All are welcome. |

Bible studies are available seasonally. Please watch the
bulletin for details of upcoming programs. |

Music |
“Praise him with trumpets, praise him with harps and lyres.
Praise him with drums and dancing. Praise him with harps and
flutes. Praise him with cymbals.” Psalm 150: 3-5 Our music ministry begins and centers on the Eucharistic sacrifice. Always joyful and upbeat, each person’s participation strengthens and nourishes one another’s faith. We need dedicated people willing to share their time and talents, vocal and instrumental, with our faith community. |

Adult Choir |
This choir leads the assembly in song from September through May
at the 10:30am Mass, and at special services. Rehearsals are
held Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9pm. This choir is open
to all and we joyfully welcome all new members. |

Adult Spanish Choir |
This choir leads the assembly in song from September through May
at the noon Mass and at special services. Rehearsals are on
Sundays just before the noon Mass. This choir is open to all and
we joyfully welcome all new members. |

|
Cantors |
At the discretion of the parish Music Director, this ministry is
open to parishioners of high school age or older. Candidates
should possess a pleasant voice, sing in tune and articulate
text clearly. Candidates should possess a friendly personality,
to aid in engaging the assembly in active participation. |
||||||||
|
Instrumentalists |
The parish Music Director maintains a list of competent
instrumentalists to be called upon when the need arises. If any
parishioner would like to have their name added to the list,
they should contact the parish Music Director and schedule an
audition. |
||||||||
|
Resurrection Choir |
The pastor is very interested in seeing a Resurrection Choir
formed at Transfiguration. If you would be interested in
volunteering to organize or sing, please call the Pastor or the
Director of Music. |

|
Parish Council |
Parish Council assists the pastor with
planning parish operations and activities. The Parish Council
meets once a month and any parishioner may submit their name to
the Pastor for appointment to the Parish Council |
||||||||
|
Stewardship |
“Give and it shall be given to you…for the measure you
measure with will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38 All members of Transfiguration Faith Community are called to be good stewards of God’s gifts to us. It is in this area that we realize the blessings given to us and our need to give back to God a portion of the first fruits of our treasure. Time and talent are also marvelous avenues of gifts which we can give to further our service to God’s people, our brothers and sisters. |

Annual County Line Festival |
Transfigurations Annual County Line Festival is a community
building fund raiser for our church and school community.
This huge effort begs the total involvement and commitment
of all the ministries, families, and individuals of our
parish. This four day event has been instrumental in
providing vital revenue and promoting teamwork and community
for all. The committee meets monthly and all those wishing
to volunteer are asked to call the parish office. |

Prison Ministry |
“For I was in prison and you visited me.” Matthew 25:36 Our parish priest, with the assistance of some parishioners visits with inmates at local jails and prisons, and providing an opportunity for the incarcerated to attend Mass. |

|
Parish Nurse Ministry |
“He received them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of
God, and he healed those who needed to be cured. Luke 9:11 This ministry advocates health, wellness, health education, and provides spiritual support. Through various informational programs, health screenings and support programs, the Parish Nurse Ministry strives to meet the needs of the congregation. The main objective is to maintain a balance of mind, body and spirit through physical and spiritual advocacy. |

The Committee for Charitable Assistance |
Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you
do unto me.” This ministry provides bags of non-perishable foods, donated by parishioners each week, to the needy in the area surrounding our parish. The ministry also provides checks for assistance with Water or Power bills using the money contributed each week in our poor box. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, this committee collects for and distributes turkeys and complete holiday meal kits to the needy in the surrounding neighborhoods. |

Youth Ministry |
Our Middle School Youth group, available to children of the
parish in grades 6-8, meets twice monthly for service
projects and social activities. The mission of the group is
to build a foundation of youth involvement and to become
active participants of our faith community. New members are
always welcome. |

|
Finance Committee |
The Finance Committee assists the Pastor in the
administration of parish assets. The committee is concerned
with parish resources, the parish budget, and development.
The committee meets about 6 times a year. |
||||||||
|
Young At Heart |
“Gray hair is a crown of glory.” Proverbs 16:31 For those seniors of our faith community, this group gathers on the last Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm in the church for the purpose of getting to know and enjoy each other’s company. This group helps fill the need for Christian socialization, support, and fun. We encourage those who have lost spouses to join this friendly group and to invite others to come and join the fun. |

Building Committee |
“How I love your temple, Lord Almighty! How I want to be
there! I long to be in the Lord’s temple, with my whole
being I sing for Joy to the Lord.”
Psalm 84:1-2 This committee is concerned with parish property, parish support and the effective use of parish facilities. We welcome assistance from people skilled in plumbing, electrical work, heating and cooling systems and other trade areas. |

Collection Counters |
Each Monday morning, a group of parishioners meets to count our
weekly collection. By Diocesan regulation, counting groups
rotate so that each group meets once or twice a month. The
volunteers gather at 8:30am and are done before noon. |
||||||||
|
Church Garden Maintenance |
If you like fresh air, sunshine, and playing in the dirt,
this ministry is for you. Our mission is to care for our
gardens at the parish, the school, and the parish offices.
If you have an interest in this type of work, please call
the parish office to volunteer. |
||||||||
|
Public Relations |
“No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it
under a bed, instead, it is put on a lamp stand, so that
people will see the light as they come in.”
Luke 8:16 This committee is dedicated to the cultivation of a positive and proactive presence of our parish church and school and to creating notoriety within our parish boundaries and throughout the faith community of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. |
